Tinubu Makes Another ‘Embarrassing Gaffe’ Declares Omo-Agege As Emerging Governor Of ‘Niger Delta State’

In another embarrassing blunder, All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu incorrectly identified Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the party’s 2023 governorship candidate in Delta State and the deputy president of the Senate, as the incoming governor of “Niger Delta state.”

www.bigpengr.com reports that Nigeria, a country with 36 states, does not currently have a state designated as the “Niger Delta state” enumerated under the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

However, recognising personalities at Oporoza, Warri South West local government, where he had gone to meet a former Niger Delta militant leader, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, Tinubu declared that Omo-Agege would succeed as governor of Niger Delta state.

Tinubu, said; “I equally recognise, today the deputy senate president currently, and he will be the governor of Niger Delta state”.

He was surrounded by APC leaders, including Chief Timipre Sylva, his counterpart in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, Governors Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano and Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, and Deputy-Senate President Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. However, when he made the mistake, APC deputy governorship candidate Hon. Friday Osanebi and others inadvertently applauded him.
