According to Hon. Joel-Onowakpo, “Today marks International Day of the Girl Child.” It is a day set aside by the United Nations to celebrate the girl child, raising awareness and highlighting the importance of the girl child in the world.

“Every girl child is worthy to be celebrated locally and internationally.” “Our girl’s child today is our mother’s tomorrow.” God has destined the girl child, our mothers of today, to perform quality roles in humanity and the behavioural development of our children.”

“As a politician, women have continued to play significant roles in voting, child-bearing, and home development.”

“We must promote girl education, health, and nutrition.” We must not allow the girl’s child to experience gender inequality, female infanticide, discrimination, sexual abuse, violence, etc.

“To train a girl child is to train a nation.” We must empower, protect, and amplify the voices of the girl’s child today.

“To every girl child in Delta South Senatorial District, I celebrate you greatly.”
