2023: Wike’s Choice For Rivers, Fubara Wanted By EFCC For N435bn Fraud Wins PDP Guber Ticket

Governor Nyesom Wike’s preferred and anointed candidate for Rivers State Governorship election, Fubara Siminayi wanted by anti-corruption agency for multi-billion naira fraud, has won the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket.
BIGPENNGR.COM reports that Fubara won the race at the primary with a total of 721 votes against other 15 aspirants that contested in the election.
Other contestants who were in the race with him, Kamalu Isaac scored 86, George Kelly 37, Danagogo Tammy 36, West Morgan got four votes, Briggs David four, Felix Obuah two votes and eight void votes.
The total number of delegates expected to vote was 980; 898 delegates accredited voted in the election.
Fubara, a former Rivers State Accountant-General and 58 others are wanted by EFCC for N435 billion fraud.
Siminayi, and four other Rivers State government officials, among others, are wanted for suspected N117 billion fraud, alleged criminal conspiracy, money laundering, misappropriation of public funds, and abuse of office.
The Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, called on the general public to assist in apprehending the Accountant-General and other suspects.
Uwujaren said, “We call on anyone with useful information as to the whereabouts of the Account-General to contact any of the Agency’s offices or the nearest police station or other security agencies.”
