Warri South Council To Launch Mobile Court For Environmental Offenders

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Council in Delta State, Dr Michael Tidi, on Saturday, said plans are on the way to reintroduce environmental sanitation mobile court, to try those flouting the state government’s restriction order during sanitation period of between 7 and 10 am.

Warri South Council Supervisor for Environment, Mr. Omawumi Elete, disclosed this on Saturday January 29, on behalf of the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, while supervising the sanitation exercise.

Mr. Elete, stated that the policy thrust of the Dr. Michael Tidi led administration, was anchored on the need to ensure a cleaner and more beautiful Warri South Local Government Area, so as to attract more investors.

Officials of Warri South Environment department and Beautification Taskforce, assisted by members of Delta State Taskforce on Environment, enforced compliance of the state government’s restriction order during the exercise.

The Warri South Council team, mobilized men and materials for the clearing of blocked drains at Lower Erejuwa Junction by Warri Main Garage, evacuated refuse at Deco Road Junction by Warri Sapele Road, Okumagba Estate Roundabout and other strategic locations in the Oil City of Warri.

Traders who displayed their wares for sale during the period, were made to stop sale and cleanup their surroundings.
