2022: National Biosafety’s CEO, Dr Ebegba Speaks On Patriotism, Increased Polity Participation In New Year Message

Dr Rufus Eseoghene Ebegba, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Biosafety Management Agency (NBMA), has urged Deltans and Nigerians to be more patriotic and committed to social development.

Dr Ebegba made the call in his New Year Message to Deltans and Nigerians made available to newsmen on Thursday in Asaba, the state capital.

Ebegba had successfully piloted and supervised the development of National Biosecurity Policy and Action Plan 2022-2026 (now approved by the FEC).

The statement reads in full: “With happiness and sincere goodwill, I join Deltans and Nigerians around the world in celebrating and welcoming ourselves to the New year”.

“The completion of the 365 days evokes sincere thanks to the Almighty God, for events and developments that have so far shaped the outcomes we experienced individually and collectively. The gratitude for the past year is an inspiration of hope and faith in Christ Jesus for better outcomes in 2022”.

“As we welcome the year 2022, I urge all to reflect soberly on our stumbles, successes and lessons, and be committed to make adjustments that would better suit our immediate and extended society’s development”.

“The year 2022 is the year before the general elections, therefore I encourage Deltans and Nigerians to take active part in the subsequent events that would shape the 2023 elections, especially in internal party affairs/exercises”.

“We must remember that elections are the legally recognised means of choosing individuals that would represent and run the affairs of our political parties and government for the next 4 years, therefore we are to take care and vigilantly assess individuals and events that would play active roles from now till 2023, on the basis of integrity, preparedness and capacity”.

“In circumspection, issues affecting the Delta Youth, Girl Child, Human Rights, Charity, Security, Economy, and Social Order are front burning issues which I, Rufus Eseoghene Ebegba, KSJ; believe should be given adequate attention, therefore the conversation from my end will always explore ways through which the aforementioned issues will be best addressed for the benefit of Deltans and Nigerians at home and beyond”.

“In conclusion, I call for more disposition to charity and philanthropy from the upper, middle and lower classes of our society.

In same vein, I call for more sense of duty from amongst our civil, public and even private employees, with a request for better welfare and working conditions to improve our general productivity”.

Let us make 2022, the best it can be by being patriotic, civil and exhibiting love.
