Okowa Speaks On His ‘2023 Vice Presidential Bid’

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has broken his silence over rumours making the round that he is working underground to emerge as running mate to a northerner in the 2023 presidential election.
BIGPENNGR gathered that insinuations are rife that Governor Okowa had quietly declared his interest to contest alongside a Northerner under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform and have been working discreetly to realise the Vice Presidential bid.
There is wide spread speculations that Okowa would be pairing with Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who is being speculated as one of those the PDP is prospecting as a possible presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
Tambuwal and Okowa became close ally prior to the 2019 presidential election and may be running together if the permutations by pundits are anything to go by.
But speaking at the 2021 quarterly media interaction with journalists in Asaba, the State capital, Governor Okowa while addressing the issue of zoning in Delta State, broke his silence on his purported ambition of running as a vice presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.
Okowa said he was still praying to God on whether to run as a vice presidential candidate in the elections or not.
He revealed that God was yet to lead him to where He wants him to be, expressing confidence that he knows that God will give him an answer at His timing.
“Concerning myself and 2023, I am still praying. I am still praying, and God has not yet led me to where He wants me to be. But, pray for me depending on what you want me to do but I know that God will give me an answer at his timing,” Okowa said.
