BREAKING: One Reportedly Dies, Many Vehicles Burnt As Tanker Explodes In Ogun

Multiple sources on Tuesday say at least one person reportedly feared dead, many vehicles burnt as a fuel laden tanker went up in flame in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital.

BIGPEN understands the tanker exploded after hitting a commercial motorcycle following a brake failure along Presidential Boulevard in Abeokuta

Sources said that the incident occurred at about 8.15 am, when the 33,000 litre tanker had brake failure, while descending Kuto over head bridge.

One source disclosed that the tanker went into flames after hitting a motorcycle from behind

The development led to confusion as the incident happened near a private school and a bank facility with parents rushing to get their children from the school.

The source said about one person reportedly died in the incident while many vehicles got burnt in the explosion.

Men of the Ogun State Fire Service were at the scene of the incident to bring the raging fire under control while motorists were advised to ply alternative route.
