There is growing anxiety over the health status of former Lagos State Governor and leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

BIGPEN reports that the development follows media reports that Tinubu has tested positive for the deadly coronavirus infection.

Multiple reports say the APC’s national leader, fell sick before the Christmas and New Year celebrations and was flown abroad where he was placed on sickbed rest.

According to reports, Tinubu, who is believed to be eying the presidency in 2023, left the country some days to Christmas for Paris, France, where is said to be receiving treatment on COVID-19 related ailment.

However, dismissing a version of the reports that the ex-governor is hospitalized abroad over the COVID-19 positive status, Bola Tinubu’s son, Seyi Tinubu, took to his social media pages to debunk the reports.

In a post shared on his social media page via his Instastories, Seyi quoted his father’s spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, as saying Bola Tinubu has done the coronavirus test 15 times and all the tests have returned negative.

Tunde Rahman says the controversial politician is currently in the UK taking a vaccine for the virus.

Meanwhile, Tinubu’s media aide, Tunde Rahman, in a statement, said  that the Asiwaju of Lagos as the APC National Leader is referred to by some of his supporters, is “hearty but resting in London“.

“That’s a lie from the pit of hell. Asiwaju is very okay. He is very fine and not sick. He does not have COVID-19. If you must know, we have done COVID-19 test 15 times, each time he felt we had travelled and mingled with many people and could be vulnerable even though he always wore his face mask, but he has been certified negative 15 times”.
