Lagos Maintains Huge COVID-19 Lead As Nigeria Adds 288 Cases

Lagos state has reported 179 positive cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) out of 288 new cases recorded from 15 states and the FCT.

The figures were released on Friday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on its Twitter handle.

Lagos has maintained an epicenter status since the infection broke out in the country.

In the Friday figures released by NCDC, Kaduna State went after Lagos with 20 cases, while Katsina, Jigawa, Borno and Ogun got 15, 15, 13 and 11 infections respectively.

In the chart, Kano recorded eight cases, while the Federal Capital Territory recorded seven, with Niger and Ekiti States having four each.

NCDC, also said that Oyo, Delta and Bauchi States had three cases each, with Edo and Kwara States having two and one respectively.

So far, as at Friday night, Nigeria had 5,445 cases of COVID-19, with 1,320 discharged and 171 deaths.
