Delta Assembly Screened, Confirmed DESOPADEC Appointees Amid Protest

The Delta State House of Assembly on Tuesday screened and confirmed all the nominees appointed by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for the governing board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC amidst protest from some quarters in the state.
BIGPEN Online reports that controversy have continued to trail the announcement of the names of nominees into the interventionist agency across the state.
Despite the protest, all the 15 nominees were cleared and asked to take a bow and go by the assembly Speaker, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori during plenary on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the State House of Assembly has also screened and confirmed other nominees including the last batch of Commissioners appointed by the governor.
