Final UPDATE: Full Governorship Election Results In Delta

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State is Governor-elect in the 2019 governorship election held on Saturday March 9, 2019.

State collation officer, Prof. Serth Accra Jaja while giving details of the results, said the state has a total of 2,831,205 registered voters, adding that 1,188,784 were accredited.

He said a total of 1,178,335 votes were cast during the election, out of which 1,154,188 votes were valid while 24,147 were rejected.

In the final score as collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, APC scored 215,938 while PDP polled 925,274 votes.

The various political parties agents are currently signing the result sheet.

INEC’s State collation officer, Prof. Serth Accra Jaja after the signing of results sheets formally declared Okowa winner of the keenly contested governorship election at about 12:30pm.

The collation of results which adjourned to today, Monday 11, March, 2019 started about 10:am.

Update V

Collation of governorship election results in Delta State has been adjourned to tomorrow Monday 11, March, 2019.

The collation centre will be open tomorrow morning at 9:am, REC Dr. Omorogbe said as he announced the adjournment.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has won 18 LGAs of the 19 already declared. APC won one. Only six local government councils are remaining for the new Governor-elect to be declared by INEC’s, State collation officer, Prof. Serth Accra Jaja.

Prof Jaja who presided over the announcement by the various LGA collation officers will do the final declaration of the winner after collating all the results of LGAs.

BIGPEN ONLINE reports that collation of the remaining 12 local government councils have just commenced after the short break.


INEC’s REC, Dr Omorogbe just announced a short break at about 2:10pm after collating thirteen local government councils.

They will resume collation again by 3:30pm.

Out of the 13 LGAs, PDP has won 12 while APC won one.

So far, 12 local government councils mainly in Delta Central senatorial district and parts of Delta South senatorial district are yet to be declared.
