Osinbajo Expresses Thanks After Surviving Second Air Mishap In Eight Months

Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice president says he is grateful to God for rescuing him and his crew for an air crash today, Saturday in Kabba, Kogi state.

Osinbajo, a law professor and pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), said he would continue the #NextLevelEngagements after the accident.

“We are safe and sound! Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern and thank you to the crew who managed the situation well, Osinbajo said.

Continuing, he said,  “We believe that God will continue to keep us and Nigeria safe even as we go higher.

“We continue #NextLevelEngagements in Kabba, Kogi State”, he added.

BigPen Online reports that the accident is the second air mishap the vice-president will survive in eight months, after surviving the first in June 2018.

Recalls, Osinbajo helicopter developed “technical” fault shortly after take off, forcing it to make an emergency landing in June, 2018.

The chopper was to conveyed Osinbajo from the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College, Gwagwalada, Abuja to the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Osinbajo’s spokesman Laolu Akande, who confirmed the development then, said that the Vice President was brought to the ceremony in the same helicopter.

He was at the NCS Command and Staff College for the graduation ceremony of Senior Division Course 1/2018 participants.

On take off after the ceremony, the chopper started emitting thick fumes, forcing it to land shortly after.

Akande, on his Twitter handle: @akandeoj, wrote after the accident: “VP Osinbajo attended the graduation ceremony of Nigeria Customs Senior Course in Gwagwalada today. On his way back it was decided, for technical reasons, not to fly the chopper that had brought him to the venue. He drove back to the Presidential Villa & continued his schedule”.
