JUST IN: Obasanjo To Inaugurate Stephen Keshi Stadium Ahead FIFA Friendly Match In Delta

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has arrived Asaba, the Delta State capital, on a two-day state working visit where he is billed to commission some projects, including the Stephen Keshi Stadium built by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led government.
The Stephen Keshi Stadium will, on Tuesday, host its first FIFA approved international friendly between Super Eagles of Nigeria and Cranes of Uganda in Asaba.
The plane carrying Obasanjo and other dignitaries touched down at the Asaba International Airport built by former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan about 6:15pm on Sunday.
The former president was received by Governor Okowa, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori, the state PDP chairman, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso and other top members of the government.
PUNCH reports that during the visit, Obasanjo, will inaugurate the Stephen Keshi Stadium on Monday.
Other projects to be opened by the former president include the Dualised Old Lagos/Asaba Road in Agbor, the Dualised Owa-Eke/Owa-Alero Road leading to the governor’s village in Ika North East Local Government Area.
It was also gathered that Obasanjo would also hold political talks with the governor and some selected political leaders in the state ahead of the 2019 general elections
