2019 Delta Governorship: Ochei Intensifies His Bid To Emerge As APC Flagbearer
Former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Ochei has intensified his bid to emerge as the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship flag bearer in the forthcoming party primaries.
Ochei, who has been on a statewide consultations, said the much awaited move to reposition Delta state on the path of purposive governance has taken a step of faith.
He spoke in a post made on his facebook page obtained by BigPen Online on Thursday after his visit to leaders and elders of APC in Isoko South and North Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, he was in the race to challenge the hitherto poor leadership and absence of political will by the PDP-led administration.
He said that if given the mandate, he would deploy the instrumentality of governance rightly, to the benefit of the people.
“Hence, my resolve to run for the office of Governor of Delta state in 2019, necessitated consultation visits to relevant stakeholders and party faithful in Isoko North and South local government areas yesterday, Wednesday 5th of September, 2018”, he wrote.
“Undoubtedly, this change we seek begins with choosing the right candidate at the forthcoming Gubernatorial Primaries of our great party the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Continuing, he said, “my emergence as the standard bearer of the party will be a sure step towards the actualization of this change, which is, bringing about goal oriented governance”.
