Police Report Indicts Daura Over National Assembly’s Invasion
Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, has released a report indicting the dismissed Director-General of Department of State Service, DSS), Lawal Daura of acting a bad script of politicians in the National Assembly invasion saga.
The police says the barricade on the entrance of the complex, which prevented lawmakers from accessing the complex on Tuesday 7th August was scripted for Daura to act on.
According to the IGP’s report, the former DSS Director was playing a role orchestrated by “…highly placed politicians to achieve selfish political goals hence his unilateral and unlawful decision to invade the National Assembly Complex…”
The report also confirms that the former DG did not act on his own stead but was working with some politicians.
The report further claims that the sacked DG of DSS was still undergoing interrogation under house arrest in a private property at Garki, Abuja.
Recalls that Daura was sacked by Acting President Yemi Osinbajo who also ordered investigation into the motives and circumstances surrounding the ugly incident.
