Amaechi, Uduaghan, Sylva, Ochei, Utomi, Abike-Dabiri, Ojudu Others Attend Ayiri Emami’s Ologbotsere Title Celebration

It was a gathering of who-is-who in the political landscape of Delta State and beyond as All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain and Warri based business mogul, Chief Ayirimi Emami performed the final rite of the conferment of Ologbotsere of Warri title on him by Olu of Warri Kingdom, HRM Ogiame Ikenwoli.

Dignitries who graced the occasion include, Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, ex-governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, Senior Special Assistant on Foreign Affairs to the President, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Presidential Adviser on political matters, Babafemi Ojudu, All Progressive Congress governorship aspirant in Delta State, Prof Pat Utomi, former defunct PDP factional National Vice Chairman, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, former Delta State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, APC 2015 Delta state governorship candidate, Olorogun Ote’ga Emerhor.

Former governor of Delta State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan who arrived the ceremony earlier led other top PDP chieftains including former Secretary to the state Government, Comrade Ovouzorie Macaulay, former PDP state chairman, Chief Pius Sinebe, ex-commissioners including, Chief Solomon Fukekeme, Joseph Otumara, Dr Chris Oghenevchowen, Hon. Talib Tebite, former member representing Ughellli South in Delta State House of Assembly, Chief. Fred Majemite, House of Representatives member representing Ughelli/Udu federal constituency, Hon.Solomon Awhinawhi, among others of his political associates to the event.

The event held at the palace of the Olu of Warri Kingdom was a symbolic final rite in which the golden sceptre (traditional staff of office) handed over to Chief Emami, the fourth Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom during his installation is returned in a granduar celebration.

Among the rite was the performance of the various Ologbotsere cultural dance and paying of homage to the monarch.

Performing the rite, the Olu of Warri said that the ceremony was the final rite of Ologbotsere title conferred on Chief Emami and therefore urged all his subject to work in harmony with the new title holder.

He said that the selection of an Ologbotsere was purely a “family thing”, adding it is family title and the choice of a holder always come from the descendants of the Ologbotsere family.

“When they first presented his (Chief Ayirimi Emami) name to me, a lot of people felt concern but it is not a national title, it is a family title. It was the family choice so let nobody be angry about it. Let’s support and work with him to move the Kingdom forward”.

He said that the Ologbotsere was next in command in the Kingdom, adding that his reign would continue to ensure peaceful co-existence among their neighbours and other royal fathers in the state.

While commanding the traditional rulers who graced the occasion, the monarch however urged youths to continue to be law abiding and remain steadfast in pursuing their lawful businesses.

He however thanked all invited guests for finding time to honour the recipient and the people of Warri Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Chief Yeye Pessu (Ezomo of Warri), Chief Mene Brown, Chief Charles Ikomi said to be key players during the reign of HRM Ogiama Atuwatse II were conspicuously absence, fueling insinuation that they are still aggrieved over the installation.
