As the political horse trading toward the 2019 general elections gathers momentum, former President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday declared that his priority now is to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party returns to power.
Jonathan who spoke while receiving on courtesy call one of the chairmanship candidates of the party, Chief Olabode George, in Bayelsa State, said that he will ensure that the mistakes of the past did not repeat itself again.

Jonathan said he took responsibility for the loss the party suffered in the last presidential election and would do everything possible to get the Presidency back.

According to him, he was already working with some stakeholders to ensure that the ambition of regaining the Presidency became a reality.

His words:  “Whether I like it or not, I must take responsibility for the defeat because I led the party to the election,” the media team of George quoted Jonathan as saying.

“My priority now is how to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party regains the presidency in 2019… The only thing that will make me sleep well is to ensure that the PDP comes back to power.”
