Former Secretary to the Delta state Government (SSG), Comrade Ovouzorie Macaulay on Saturday played host to the three powerful men – Chief James Ibori, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and incumbent Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, who always go for the jugular in the politics of Delta state.

BigPen Online reports that despite their now covertly political differences, the trio who have built their own political structures under the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the years can be best described as the ‘three musketeers’ of all time politics of the oil rich state.

Macaulay, growing politically to become an emerging political force after being ‘made’ by Ibori and Uduaghan, had primarily designed the reception in honour of his main boss, Chief James Onanefe Ibori who recently return to the country after serving out his jail term in the UK.

Ibori, although maintain a very high level influence over political structures in the state before now, he became a more forceful ‘political mecca’ after his return to Delta state where he sway as “godfather”.

However, immediate past governor of the State, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, another ‘maradonic actor’ in the Delta politics cannot afford to remind in another clime when event of that magnitude is being package for their all time ‘political boss’, Ibori.

Macaulay and Uduaghan are Ibori’s most trusted ally and confidant.

It was gathered that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, another associate of Ibori, though not properly put on the picture of the event, was conspicuously present at the grand reception with his retinue of aides as his absence for whatever reason could have send wrong signal and have grave telling on his reelection.

Pundits say such political event where contenders, party associates, and followers meet have it own critical role to play as the match toward fresh governorship election come 2019 gathers momentum in the state.

Okowa has been squaring up for his second term come 2019 and would need all the forces be can muzzle, including mending fences with those he had offended to beat his contenders in other political parties.

BigPen Online gathered that the reception held at the palatial residence of Macaulay in Owhelogbo, Isoko North Council Area of the State attracted top chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including Senator James Manager, Ibori’s former Deputy, Chief Benjamin Elue, the PDP state chairman, Barr Kingsley Esiso, House of Assembly members, serving commissioners, captains of industries, religion leaders, women groups, several youth groups, as well as traditional rulers across the state.
