Labour Party New Delta Chairman, Nkwoala Warns Aspirants From Collecting Forms From Imposters

Published

on

Emeka Nkwoala, is the newly elected Delta state chairman of the Labour Party. Nkwoala who had before now occupied the position until the 2014 when crisis erupted in the party. He was re-elected during the Special National Convention of the party in Abuja, held in October 3, 2017.

In this interview with our political Editor in Abuja, Nkwoala, who spoke on wide range of issues, thanked God for reclaiming the mandate once more even as he warned those still parading themselves as the chairman of the party in the state to desist from such illegal act, threatening that “Henceforth anybody who parades himself as chairman of Labour Party will be arrested and prosecuted.”

Excerpts:

We Understand That There Has Been Crisis In Your Labour Party In Delta State. What Is The Current Situation Now In The Party?

Yes! The issue is that as at today, the party is stabilized because the right thing has been done by the highest decision making organ of the party, which is the delegates conference of the party and the impostor, I believe by now the game is up for him. He has to follow the part of honour if he has any remaining with him if not just as the former national chairman of the party was arrested, the person parading himself as the Delta state chairman of the party will also be arrested for impersonation.

Did You Say Henceforth Anybody Who Parades Himself As Chairman Of Labour Party In Delta State Will Be Arrested?

Yes! Henceforth, anybody outside my veryself who parades himself or who attends any meeting called by either DSIEC, INEC or whatever, such a person will get himself arrested because the party is supreme and the party has taken its decision and that decision is bidding on everybody. I also want to use this opportunity to call on Deltans, the Labour Movement, Civil Society groups, professional bodies that we have reclaimed our party from the impostors, hijackers and I can assure Deltans that Labour Party is on the part of growth, development, is on the part of entrenching true democratic system in the state.

During Your Reign Some Years Back As The Delta State Labour Party Chairman Before It Was Hijacked As You Said, Your Party Was Always Bubbling, What Is Your Plan To Bring Back The Lost Glory.?

Yes thank you very much, I appreciate this question. For us, we believe in team work and my leadership is team leadership. I can assure you that together with the civil society and the labour movement, because these are the owners of the party. I can assure you that we will extend our hands of fellowship as we have done in the past that from now life will come back to the party and we will continue to also engage those of you our friends from the media, fourth estate of the realm to help to project Labour Party and to let our people to know that the rightful leadership has finally emerged and we give thanks to God almighty.

What Are Your Plans For The Party In 2019?

Yes! I think before 2019, there is local government election that is around the corner. I want to call on aspirants to be aware of impostors because if they collect forms from the wrong place, it should be clear to them that they are not aspirants of the labour party. It is only the leadership that is duly recognized by the national leadership of Labour Party as ably led by Dr. Mike Omotosho. Any other person outside the leadership of Dr. Mike Omotosho, is an impostor. So, if they collect forms from any other place, they are on their own and it is illegal, it is not acceptable, it is not known to us, it is not known to the law and in 2019 by the grace of God with the new face of leadership at the national level of the party victory is sure for us this time around. It might interest you to know that since the inception of this party, we have not gotten a presidential candidate before. I want to assure Nigerians that this time around with the credible leadership at the National, the party will have a presidential candidate, governorship candidates and vitually all the positions that are required and it is a party to beat because as at today APC has failed all of us. PDP has this corruption “toga” on them. So, Labour Party is the only credible alternative and I believe Nigerians are looking towards that direction and by the grace of God we will not disappoint this nation and Deltans.

How Would You Described The PDP Led Government In Delta State Where Protest Against The State Government Has Become The Order Of The Day?

I think the issue is clear, as far as we are concerned we have come to realized that the expectations and aspirations of our people have been dashed by the PDP led government in the state. There was a time the Commissioner for Works was talking about so much billions of naira that they have spent on roads and I asked some of my Journalist friends from the the state, If they were part of the commissioning of such roads. How many commissioning have you witnessed for the past two years? So, I think for us, APC have failed at the national level while at the state level, PDP has also failed. The only alternative as of today, is the Labour Party.
