The Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege has said that in 2015 Delta state people voted the wrong person into Government House, Asaba, hence there is hunger in the land.

According to him, come 2019, if eligible Deltans register and vote for the right person (s) there will be surplus in the land.

He spoke in Effurun over the weekend, while presenting female traders with N 20, 000 each as part of his empowerment programme to the downtrodden people of Delta Central Senatorial District.

Commenting on the ongoing INEC registration exercise, the lawmaker said, “I wish to advise you to register so that you can vote for the right candidate in the next elections, because it is only when you register that you can exercise your right”.

He disclosed that the next phase of his empowerment programme will focus on youths, men and undergraduates of Delta State origin.

The women traders that benefited from the latest round of empowerment were drawn from Effurun Main Market, Ugborikoko Market, Abraka, Kokori and Eku Markets.
