BUSTED! New Niger-Delta Avengers Funded By DESOPADEC, Interested Parties In State Assembly

Reports have emerged that the self-styled group, New Niger Delta Avengers which have been threatening fire and brimstone is reportedly being funded by some politicians in Delta State and top management of Delta Oil commission, BigPen Online can report.

Credible sources told our correspondent that some politicians in the state frustrated of how to get funds from Okowa government had allegedly formed the supposed militant group to prod the state government to release backlog of funds to contractors and the Delta Oil Production Area Commission.

The source said that the oil commission have been a conduit pipe to some lawmakers in the state House of Assembly but Okowa on assumption of office reportedly blocked on the loopholes through the DESOPADEC amendment bill.

It was gathered that Hon Micheal Diden, Alias Ejele is the arrowhead of the group in the State House of Assembly who are scheming to re-seize the powers they wield in DESOPADEC which the Governor had allegedly taken away from them.

Our source said: “Are you not surprise that the so-called militant group is paying for adverts in the pages of newspapers, have you heard of that before? They even signed one recently where they mentioned names of people from five ethnic nationalities that initially formed DESOPADEC concept.

“We know the so-called militant group is a scam but when the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor responded to them, it boosted their egos and that was when they got the credibility to continue talking because that only shows the Governor is already aware of the issues they were raising.

“But the true is that the state government wanted to play along and we know those behind them now.

“You know every facet of Nigeria economy is affected by decline in allocation so if DESOPADEC allocation is on longer coming the way it ought to be, does that now give people right to start forming militant group to threaten the government?

“As far as I know what is going on is criminal and should be thoroughly investigated.

“I can categorically tell you that some politicians that can be regarded as Okowa men in the state are behind this scam designed to scandalized the state government.

“Trying to scam a government that you are serving just because you are not getting the free money you want to corner is not only criminal but fraudulent and should be condemned in its entirety.

“This people has now given the Governor the reason to go ahead and exercise his right to hire and fire. Currently, the whole of DESOPADEC management should be called to question.

“I know those directly behind the plot including contractors to bomb pipeline which they wanted to use to blackmail Okowa into submission but I doesn’t want to mention names besides the chief plotter.

“To tell you this whole thing is a big scam. Immediately Pa. E. K Clark-led PANDEF responded by appealing to groups causing tension in the country to soft paddle including this so-called militant group, they held meeting in Sapele, called by Ejele though he didn’t show up and three others DESOPADEC Commissioners, where they agreed to call off the planned bombing of pipelines apparently because the mission appear to have been accomplished crudely”.

All efforts to reach Hon Diden for comments proved abortive, moreso, calls to DESOPADEC MD, Olorogun Williams Makinde were not picked as at the time of publishing this report.
