JUST IN: Talking To You’ll Amount To Subjudice, Omo-Agege Tells Investigative Panel On Mace Theft

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has told Senate committee investigating invasion of the National Assembly and theft of the Senate Mace that talking to them will amount to subjudice since the matter is before the law court already.

The lawmaker stated this on Tuesday when he appeared before the committee to answer questions about the recent invasion by alleged hoodlums which occurred recently at the National Assembly.

Channels television had reported that before the invasion of the Senate Chambers, the lawmaker was suspended for 90 legislative after accusing his colleagues of working against President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election plans in 2019.

Omo-Agege who represents Delta Central in the red chamber made the accusation after his colleagues adopted the amendment to section 25 of Electoral Act outlining a change in the sequence of elections.

During today’s investigation, the Senator insisted that he cannot answer questions from the committee because the matter is in court and discussing it will amount to subjudice.
