ADC Urges FG to Intensify Rescue Efforts for Kidnap Victims in Borno, Kwara

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure the release of kidnap victims still being held in Borno and Kwara states, following the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers in Oyo State.

The party commended security agencies for the operation that led to the freedom of the victims in Oyo but stressed that similar commitment should be extended to Nigerians who remain in captivity in other parts of the country.

According to the ADC, every Nigerian life is equally valuable and rescue efforts should not be limited to a particular state or region.

The party urged the government to adopt a more coordinated approach to tackling kidnapping and other security challenges across the country.

It also called on security agencies to sustain the momentum recorded in the Oyo operation by intensifying intelligence gathering and rescue operations to ensure that all kidnapped victims regain their freedom.

The party maintained that protecting the lives of citizens remains one of the government’s primary responsibilities and appealed to the authorities to reassure affected families that every effort is being made to rescue their loved ones.

Punch Newspapers reported that the ADC made the appeal after the successful rescue of abducted pupils and teachers who spent 56 days in captivity in Oyo State, urging the Federal Government to replicate the same level of commitment in rescuing victims still being held in Borno and Kwara states.

The ADC expressed optimism that a sustained and impartial response to insecurity would strengthen public confidence in the country’s security architecture and contribute to efforts aimed at curbing kidnapping nationwide.
