“I Won the Delta North Senate Primary” – Ned Nwoko Rejects Okowa’s Claim of Victory

Senator Ned Nwoko has insisted that he won the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for Delta North, stating that he possesses extensive evidence to back his claim.

Speaking during an interview on ARISE TV, the senator said the primaries were conducted across all 98 wards in the district and that video recordings from each ward showed he emerged victorious.

According to Nwoko, the evidence will be submitted to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for verification and appropriate action.

“The APC primaries for Delta North took place across 98 wards. I have ward-by-ward video evidence showing that I won the election, and I will submit it to the party,” he said.

Nwoko further claimed that midway through the collation process, his team was informed that results would no longer be announced at the ward level as initially expected.

He said party officials later communicated that the final results would instead be declared at the national level, a decision his camp accepted in anticipation of a transparent process.

“Halfway through the process, we received information that no results would be announced at the ward level. We were told the results would be announced at the national level,” he stated.

The senator also expressed concern over what he described as the sudden appearance of results from only one ward, which he alleged was linked to political interests loyal to former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

“Instead, we were suddenly presented with a result from a single ward closely connected to the former governor, and that result was used as the basis for declaring the outcome of the entire primaries,” Nwoko alleged.

He maintained that results from the majority of the 98 wards clearly showed that he was the rightful winner of the APC Delta North Senatorial primaries.

The APC National Assembly primaries held on May 18, 2026, were reportedly marred by allegations of irregularities and manipulation in several states. However, the party’s national leadership has pledged to ensure fairness and due process in reviewing the exercise.

The APC also stated that the final results would be officially announced by the National Working Committee (NWC) after a comprehensive review of the primaries.
