The Association of Nigerian Refineries Petroleum Marketers (ANRPM), in conjunction with its Chairman and Board of Trustees, have extended its warmest congratulations to the newly inaugurated management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports ANRPM specifically felicitates with Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPCL, and Mr. Ahmadu Musa Kida, the Non-Executive Chairman, on their successful inauguration by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

ANRPM commended President Tinubu’s decisive action in appointing industry experts with proven track records to lead NNPC Ltd, expressing confident that this move will significantly contribute to revitalizing the company and establishing it as a formidable international brand in the oil and gas sector.

The Association expressed strong optimism that the new leadership will leverage President Tinubu’s strategic plan for a portfolio review of NNPC-operated and Joint Venture Assets. This, combined with ongoing oil sector reforms, is expected to rejig and attract substantial new investments, surpassing the $17 billion reported in 2024 and driving towards the administration’s ambitious targets of $30 billion by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030.

The statement reads; “President Tinubu has demonstrated astute leadership in selecting a team capable of navigating the complexities of our energy sector and unlocking its immense potential. We are particularly encouraged by the focus on value maximization and attracting further investment, which is crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth.

“In line with its core objectives of combating adulterated petroleum products and curbing malfeasance within the sector, ANRPM pledges its unwavering resolution to work assiduously with relevant security agencies and International Oil Companies (IOCs).

“This collaboration aims to ensure the new NNPC Ltd management team successfully achieves its set goals, including President Tinubu’s vision to increase oil production to two million barrels per day by 2027 and three million barrels per day by 2030.

“ANRPM also supports the targets for gas production, aiming for 8 billion cubic feet daily by 2027 and 10 billion cubic feet daily by 2030, and an increase in NNPC’s share of crude oil refining output to 200,000 barrels by 2027 and 500,000 by 2030.

“ANRPM as a major oil and gas industry stakeholder, is dedicated to promoting best practices, efficiency, and ethical conduct within Nigeria’s petroleum refining and marketing sector. ANRPM works to combat illicit activities, ensure product quality, and foster collaboration between industry players and government agencies for the overall benefit of the Nigerian economy and its citizens.

“While applauding the appointment and subsequent inauguration of the new NNPCL board, ANRPM restates its resolve to bridge the gap between its members and NNPCL and other industry stakeholders às well as to act in solidarity, promote, and protect the overall interest of its members engaging in the petroleum industry. We are primarily committed to protect and encourage our youth to get involved legitimately in the business of oil and gas industry as way of refocusing their attention from the illicit trade.

“ANRPM reiterated its ongoing efforts to reduce oil theft to its barest minimum, with its tentacles actively spread across the 36 states and FCT, working to convert illegal bunkerers into legitimate industry players. The Association, however, echoes the Federal Government’s stern warning that sabotage in the oil sector will not be tolerated as the full weight of the law will be brought against offenders.

“Our mandate includes eradicating bunkering, exploitation, hoarding, dubious middlemen, sharp practices, artificial scarcity, and product adulteration throughout the distribution chain. We are dedicated to fostering efficient and effective service delivery for all Nigerians”, ANRPM Board of Trustees added.

“Acknowledging NNPC Ltd’s status as a commercial entity under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) 2021, ANRPM urges the new management to ensure full compliance with the PIA, particularly the incorporation and funding of Host Community Development Trusts (HCDTs). The Association firmly believes that well-engaged host communities are vital for operational stability and are less likely to resort to actions that disrupt oil and gas operations.

“Furthermore, ANRPM encourages NNPC Ltd’s continued strategic business relationship with the Dangote Refinery, viewing it as a critical national asset and a partner in enhancing local production, reducing import dependency, and fostering a more competitive and sustainable downstream sector.

“ANRPM reaffirms its commitment to promoting synergy between refineries and marketers. The Association, as a critical stakeholder looks forward to a cordial and productive partnership with the new NNPC Ltd board, Dangote Refinery, and other petroleum product providers to ensure fair pricing and a robust oil and gas sector of the economy”.
