JUST IN: COVID-19 Hits President Biden, Experiencing Mild Symptoms, But Higher Risk Due To Age

President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19, the White House announced on Thursday.

Despite being vaccinated and boosted, Biden is experiencing mild symptoms, including a runny nose and cough.

“The President will self-isolate and continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” said White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

According to the statement, the positive test came following an event Biden attended in Nevada.

Biden will be returning to his private residence in Delaware “where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” Jean-Pierre said.

Biden’s physician said the president has shown “upper respiratory symptoms” and has received the first dose of the COVID drug Paxlovid. The results of a PCR confirmation test are still pending.

As Biden is 81 years old, his age puts him at a higher risk of becoming severely ill from COVID-19. This latest development has raised concerns about his health and fitness for office, particularly as the presidential elections approach.
