EXCLUSIVE: EFCC Acknowledges ‘Corruption’ Petition Against Delta CJ, Others

Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has acknowledged receipt of a petition bordering on corruption related cases against the Delta State Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Mukoro, the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Justice, Asaba, E.Z. Dolor Esq and the Delta State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Rev (Mrs) Omatsola Williams.

Dependable sources told BigPen Online that operatives of the anti-corruption agency were already collating evidence from the petitioners to prosecute the judiciary and Delta State Government officials allegedly involved in the cases.

It was learnt that a Child Rights Activist, Comrade Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho wrote the petition which was acknowledged by EFCC via email.

The activist alleged the trio were involved in distribution of packages containing letters and money to Justice T.O Uloho (Mrs) and other Judges/Magistrates of the Family Courts of Delta State to pervert justice in cases relating to children in the State.

EFCC in an email sent to Comrade Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho on 22/1/19 at about 10:54am through the official email, (info@efccnigeria.org) confirmed receipt of the petition, but however asked for more evidence.

The EFCC email reads, “Good day, we write to acknowledge the receipt of your Petition. Please attach evidence of claims, thank you”.

The petitioners in a follow up email, sent some of the documents containing evidence to the EFCC.

Some of the evidences the Rights Activist tendered includes an Application dated 28/12/18 requesting for the letters contained in the package sent to Justice T.O. Uloho the presiding Judge of the Family Court of the Warri High Court by Delta Women Commissioner Rev. (Mrs) Omatsola Williams, from the office of the Chief Judge via the office of the Chief Registrar High Court of Justice Asaba and the Registrar Family Court Division of the Warri High Court shutting down the operations of Explosive Academy extra-judicially whose subject matter is pending in Court with Rev. Mrs Omatsola Williams as party in Suit Number:W/12/FC/18.

Others includes, “the recordings of the audio broadcast from Melody FM 88.6 Warri on 5/1/19 at 10am news extract airing the shutting down extra-judicially the operations of Explosive Academy, a news purportedly credited to the Delta State Judiciary on the directive of Rev. (Mrs) Omatsola Williams whose subject matter is pending in Court as party with Suit number W/12/FC/18.

“An official letter issued under the directive of the Delta Women Commissioner dated 12/5/18 for the trafficking of a child (name withheld) to certain persons described as Mr and Mrs “XY” pending adoption order.

“An extract of Vanguard online newspaper of 18/8/18 containing the information where Delta Women Commissioner, Rev.(Mrs) Omatsola Williams disclosed that a total of 693 Adoption applications were received by her Ministry out of which 136 children were released from different approved orphanages to prospective parents by her and the letter addressed to Comrade Ighorhiohwunu Aghogho by the office of the Chief Registrar, High Court of Justice Asaba dated 20/5/18 with reference number CS.651/93 constituting an additional Family Courts in Delta State during the pendency of an ongoing National Judicial Council (NJC) investigation on same.”

Meanwhile, BigPen Online learnt that the Department of State Security, DSS has invited the Child Rights Activist for questioning following a petition allegedly written by the State Chief Judge, Justice Marshal Mukoro.
