Oyedepo Condemns Killings, Vows Prayers Against Perpetrators, Demands Government Action

The Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has strongly condemned the recent wave of killings in Nigeria, declaring that he would pray against those responsible rather than intercede on their behalf.

Speaking during a church service following the July 27, 2026 attack in Kaduna State, where gunmen reportedly killed at least 30 people, including women and children, the cleric described the perpetrators and their alleged sponsors as “destructive agents” whose actions would attract divine judgment.

“Woe to all destructive agents in Nigeria. Whether in power or out of power, judgment has finally come,” Oyedepo said.

Rejecting calls for prayers for the attackers, the bishop maintained that those responsible for the killings did not deserve such intercession.

“You can’t slaughter members of my family and want me to pray for you. I pray against you, against your household, against your generation, in the name of Jesus,” he declared.

Oyedepo also alleged that the attacks were being sponsored, insisting that the violence was not being carried out by isolated individuals.

“Everybody knows that these wicked people are being sponsored. Anyone who doesn’t know that, that’s a problem,” he said.

The cleric further pronounced what he described as a curse on individuals allegedly financing violent attacks across the country.

“Every sponsor of killers in Nigeria, you come under a curse today,” he declared.

Expressing concern over the recurring killings, Oyedepo questioned what he described as the government’s silence and response to the worsening security situation, saying he had yet to hear an official condemnation of the latest attack.

“You mean they kill people every day and government is pretending not to know what to do?” he asked.

“I have not heard any statement from government quarters against the killings. I’m here to hear one, sir. Our human life is not of value anymore?”

The bishop also lamented what he described as restrictions on public preaching, stating that although he had remained silent for a long time, he believed divine justice was imminent.

“When you see God keep quiet at the wickedness of the wicked, it’s because the bubble is about to burst,” he said.

“I have long held my peace… but now I will rise, like a wounded lion, and I will devour at once.”

Reiterating his message, Oyedepo declared that those behind the violence would not escape justice.

“As the Lord lives… this bubble will burst. Go and hide anywhere. The bubble will burst,” he said.

The bishop’s remarks came amid renewed concerns over insecurity in parts of the country following the deadly Kaduna attack, which claimed dozens of lives and has intensified calls for stronger government action to curb violent crimes.
