How Three Policemen Died Attempting to Detonate Bandits’ Explosive Device

Three officers of the Nigeria Police Force’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit have been killed while attempting to safely detonate an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) allegedly planted by bandits in Zamfara State.

‎The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the incident in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Yazid Abubakar, identifying the fallen officers as the Officer Commanding EOD, Superintendent of Police Abdulrazak Musa Hassan, Inspector Auwal Ahmad, and Inspector Murtala Musa.

‎According to the Command, the officers lost their lives during an operation to neutralise the explosive device along Bagega Road in Anka Local Government Area of the state.

‎Describing the deceased officers as courageous and dedicated personnel, the Police Command said they made the ultimate sacrifice while carrying out their duty to protect lives and property.

‎”The officers stood at the forefront of safeguarding communities, confronting danger with exceptional courage, professionalism, and patriotism,” he said.

‎The Command noted that the officers’ sacrifice reflects their unwavering commitment to national service and the maintenance of peace and security in Zamfara State.

‎While mourning the loss, the Police Command extended its heartfelt condolences to the families, colleagues, and loved ones of the deceased officers, describing their deaths as a painful loss to the Force and the nation.

‎The Command further assured that the bravery and dedication demonstrated by the fallen officers would continue to inspire future generations of police personnel, stressing that their sacrifice would not be forgotten.
