‎2027 Presidential Poll: Esther Okereke to Battle Tinubu, Atiku, Obi ‎

The National Rescue Movement (NRM) has elected Esther Nkem Okereke as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, making her the first female flag bearer in the party’s history.

‎Okereke emerged through a consensus arrangement following a unanimous voice vote by party delegates during the NRM presidential primary held in Abuja.

‎ She was subsequently presented with the party’s flag and a certificate of return amid cheers from supporters and party officials.

‎In her acceptance speech, Okereke pledged to harness Nigeria’s vast human and natural resources to transform the country into a major developmental hub across all sectors.

‎”The need for national reorientation built on unity, patriotism, and inclusive governance, saying her administration would focus on rebuilding public trust and strengthening national cohesion,” Okereke said
