The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has confirmed that it received a formal petition om Tuesday 16th December, 2025 from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer against the CEO of the NMDPRA, Alhaji Farouk Ahmed.

The ICPC said that the petition will be duly investigated, John Okor Odey, Spokesperson of ICPC, said in a terse message.

Dangote, through his lawyer Ogwu Onoja, SAN, had accused the NMDPRA CEO of corruption and misuse of public funds.

In the detailed petition, Dangote alleges that Farouk spent over $7 million in public funds on his four children’s education at elite Swiss schools, with fees paid upfront for up to six years.

He claimed that the expenditure, lacks evidence of lawful income sources and constitutes embezzlement, diversion of funds, and abuse of office.

The Dangpte Refinery CEO urged the ICPC to act decisively by investigating the allegations against Farouk and prosecuting him if found culpable, stressing that the matter is already in the public domain.
