Omo-Agege Meets President Tinubu At Aso Villa, Quells Rumour Of Rift With The Presidency

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the immediate past Deputy President of the Senate, on Saturday, met with President Bola Tinubu at the presidential villa, discussing the country’s development and progress with a focus on Delta State.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (https://bigpenngr.com) reports that the visit comes on the heels of a similar meeting between President Tinubu and other APC leaders from Delta State, led by Festus Keyamo, a serving Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development.

Omo-Agege, an aspiring 2027 Delta State APC governorship candidate, confirmed the meeting on his social media handles, sharing a photo with President Tinubu.

He described their discussion as “productive” and expressed optimism about the future.

“Last night, I had the privilege of meeting with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

“We had a productive discussion on growth, development, and progress for our nation, with a focus on Delta State, and I’m optimistic about the future,” Omo-Agege stated.

Political watchers in the state believe the meeting is a huge boost for Omo-Agege’s 2027 ambition, especially considering his ongoing “thank you tour” across the 25 local government areas of the state.

Pundits view Senator Omo-Agege’s meeting with President Tinubu as a strategic move to reaffirm his stance within the APC and quell rumours of a rift with the presidency.

BIGPEN NIGERIA reports that Omo-Agege’s absence from the earlier meeting led by Keyamo had sparked speculation about his falling out of favour.

But pundits say the closed-door meeting have demonstrated his continued influence and as a key leader in the Delta APC, his relationship with the presidency is crucial for the party’s prospects in the 2027 governorship election.

Meanwhile, an APC chieftain and Warri-based oil and gas business mogul, Chief Ayirimi Emami who few days ago described Omo-Agege as ‘a selfless leader who “clearly stands out” within the party in Delta’, had said that the earlier visit to the Presidential villa of which him and Omo-Agege and others were conspicuously absent doesn’t portray those who were there as APC leadership in the state.
