‘PAP Boss, Otuaro On Course, Lets Give Him A Chance’ – Niger Delta Monarch Urges

The Paramount Ruler of the Oil/Gas rich Great kingdom of Idjerhe, Ethiope West Council of Delta State, HRM king Obukowho M.A.Whiskey Ph.D, UDURHIE I, has urged protesters to give Administrator of Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr Dennis Otuaro a chance to move the programme to next level.

Udurhie, spoke on the backdrop of protesters by some groups in Abuja, advocating for peace and greater understanding to enable Otuaro-led Presidential Amnesty programme to succeed.

The first Class traditional ruler said he is saddened that while the Coordinator is doing everything humanly possible to reposition the PAP office some self-centered persons are out to discredit his laudable efforts.

He, however called for more stakeholders meetings geared towards findings acceptable solutions to unending quagmire.

“Our region and our political appointees cannot achieved the desire result if all we do daily is to protest and petitions writing aimed at undermining their concerted efforts”, the monarch said.

While calling on Detractors and protesters to shelve their swords, he said; “Let’s do more of consultations with our sons and daughters in government instead of this dangerous approach of always dragging down our people”.

“Collectively, we can achieve more but individually we cannot achieve anything, he posted.

The National Chairman Hoscon Traditional Rulers and Elders Advisory Council, said “As a critical stakeholder in the PAP programme, I am convinced that Dr Dennis Otuaro is on the right track, all that is needed is collective supports so that greater result can be achieved.

“Finally the Federal should convoke a critical stakeholders meeting and look at the possibilities of reviewing the Sixty thousands monthly stipends for the Ex-Agitators, that amount can no longer sustain families and dependants of Ex-Agitator.

“Peace is better appreciated through dialogue and not through confrontation” he added.
