Delta Council Boss Hails Fallen Heroes For Their Sacrifice In Peacekeeping Missions In Liberia, Sierra Leone, Others

Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta state on Wednesday joined other Nigerians across the nation to honour ex-servicemen at the Armed Forces remembrance day celebration and wreath laying ceremony in Oleh.

Warri, who used the occasion to praise the fallen heroes for their participation in peacekeeping missions in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and other West African countries, expressed gratitude for the living heroes among them and pledged to continually honour them.

The council chairman assured that his administration would partner with security agencies to ensure safety and security in Isoko South council and congratulated Lt. Col. Napoleon Agalabri, legion chairman, Isoko South, and acknowledged the local government’s support for the legionnaires.

The event, attended by serving and retired ex-servicemen, Warri recognized their sacrifices for Nigeria’s freedom, peace, and protection as well as acknowledging the armed forces’ role in defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and their contributions to national unity.

Speaking during the event, the Isoko South legion chairman, Lt. Col. Napoleon Agalabri appreciated the local government’s responsiveness to their needs and welfare even as he appealed that previous pledges be redeemed.

The wreath laying ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the leader of the legislative arm, and the representative of the Army, the Divisional Police officer Oleh and among others.
