8th National Youth Games: Delta Assures Athletes, Officials of Robust Security
The Delta State Government has assured the public that comprehensive arrangements are in place to ensure a successful and memorable 8th National Youth Games in Asaba.
With robust security measures and upgraded facilities, organizers are confident of delivering a top-notch competition.
“Under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership, we have made significant preparations to exceed expectations,” said Chief Solomon Ogba, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).
Ogba said that with heightened activity at the training grounds, hostels, and in the Stephen Keshi Stadium, we hope for a hitch free sporting event, reiterating that there is already “robust security measures in place to protect athletes, officials, and traders throughout the event”.
The renowned sports administrator, confirmed that all logistical arrangements are completed, saying that the Stephen Keshi Stadium has undergone upgrades to enhance the experience for athletes and spectators alike.
The games will feature athletes from 35 states competing in 31 different sports, with the opening ceremony scheduled for Wednesday at the newly renovated stadium.
Over 5,000 athletes will be accommodated across various locations in Delta State, all of whom are covered under health insurance for their safety and well-being during the event.
The LOC also emphasized the importance of fair play, implementing strict athlete screening to preserve the integrity of the competition.
