UK Varsity Offers Nigerians £33,150 Scholarships For Master’s In Plant And Health

The University of East Anglia, located in Norwich, United Kingdom, has announced a scholarship program worth £33,150 (approximately N44.3 million) for Nigerian students and others seeking to pursue a Master’s degree in Plant and Health.

According to details of the scholarship program, the funding for the scholarship program comes from the David Sainsbury Scholarships in Global Plant Health, which is fully funded for students planning to travel to the UK for study.

The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees, which is £33,150 for the 2024-25 academic year.

The scholarship also includes a maintenance grant, which is valued at the UKRI postgraduate researcher stipend level, to be determined for the 2024-25 academic year.

In the previous academic year, this amount was £18,622.

Additionally, the scholarship includes £4,000 for travel costs, subject to valid economy class travel receipts.

“To be eligible for the full scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
– Be in receipt of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.
– Be a national of or domiciled in a least-developed, low-income, or lower-middle-income country or territory as defined by the Overseas Development Agency Development Assistance Committee (DAC) list, version 2024-25 for entry in the 2024-25 academic year”.

Furthermore, information posted on the institution’s website shows that there are a limited number of scholarships available, and they will be awarded throughout the year.

“Therefore, applicants are advised to apply early.

“Once the criteria for admission are met, applicants will be eligible for receipts of an offer of a place on the UEA MSc in Global Plant Health.

“The university will update its website with more scholarships in May, and applicants are encouraged to always check for updates”.
