Trailerload Of Bibles “Intentionally Set Ablaze” Outside Church Building On Easter Sunday

Police in Middle Tennessee are looking into an incident where a trailer filled with bibles was intentionally set on fire outside a controversial megachurch led by Pastor Greg Locke on Easter Sunday.

The fire occurred on a street near the Global Vision Bible Church in Mount Juliet, just east of Nashville.

Authorities responded to the scene early in the morning and quickly extinguished the blaze. No injuries were reported.

According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, the trailer, which contained approximately 200 bibles, was deliberately dropped off in the middle of the intersection and set on fire.

Pastor Greg Locke, known for his outspoken views on various social and political issues, addressed the incident and stated that the fire was directed at the church.

“It blocked the entrance to our campus and the fact that it was an entire load of Bibles is rather conclusive proof that is was most assuredly directed at us,” Locke said. “It did not, nor will it stop us. It was cleaned up in time for people to drive into the parking lot. We had a full house and a marvelous service”, The Tennessean, part of the USA TODAY Network reported.

He emphasized that the act would not deter their activities and that they had a successful Easter service.

Global Vision Bible Church has previously held burning events involving materials associated with witchcraft and the occult. Pastor Locke has been involved in conservative politics and attended events in Washington, D.C.

He was present in the city on January 6, 2021, but denied entering the Capitol during the insurrection. Locke has faced criticism for spreading misinformation about COVID-19 during the early stages of the pandemic, resulting in a permanent ban from X, a social media platform in 2021.

The investigation into the bible-burning incident is ongoing, and no arrests have been made thus far, official says, saying that the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information or camera footage related to the fire to come forward.
