Aso Rock Presidential Guards Brigade On High Alert As Coup Suspicions Hits Nigeria

The Presidential Guards Brigade in Nigeria has been reportedly put on high alert after detecting unusual movements that have raised suspicions of a coup plot.

This is coming as the  Commander of the Presidential Guards Brigade, Col. Adebisi Onasanya, was said to have held emergency meetings with President Bola Tinubu and Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila to address the situation.

According to report in Sahara Reporters, key brigades are being closely monitored, and there is also concern about planned ongoing protests.

The country is currently experiencing tension due to economic challenges, rising inflation, and a high cost of living.

The coup scares is coming few days after  the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, warned against coup calls, emphasizing the military’s commitment to protect Nigeria’s democracy.
