BREAKING: Tinubu Summons, Suspends EFCC Boss, Bawa Indefinitely Hour After Their Meeting

AbdulRasheed Bawa, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been suspended from office on the order of President Bola Tinubu to allow for proper investigation into his conduct while in office.

President Tinubu, approved the indefinite suspension of Bawa, according to a statement issued by
Director, Information in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey.

The statement said the suspension follows weighty allegations of abuse of office levelled against him.

“Mr Bawa has been directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the affairs of the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.”

BIGPEN NIGERIA (www.bigpenngr.com) understands that the suspension came few hours after President Tinubu met with Bawa in the presidential villa on Wednesday.
