BREAKING: Ill Health: Finally, Gov Akeredolu Writes Assembly, Transmits Power To Deputy As Acting Gov

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has finally succumbed to pressure, handing over power to his deputy, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The Ondo State House of Assembly who confirmed the development on Tuesday said the governor is on medical leave.
BIGPEN NIGERIA (www.bigpenngr.com) understands that the development followed a letter transmitted to the Ondo State House of Assembly read at plenary by the Speaker, Mr Olamide Oladiji, that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was proceeding for medical leave.
According to Oladiji, the governor asked for 21-day leave for medical treatment abroad starting from June 7 to July 6.
The speaker said the leave will be extended to July 6 due to the public holidays on June 12 (Democracy Day) and Eid el Kabir on June 28 and June 29.
He explained that the governor had stated in the letter that his deputy, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, would act as acting governor for the period he will be away.
The speaker, who described the governor as a lover of peace and an apostle of rule of law, wished him speedy recovery and joyful vacation.
The governor has been on an extended vacation and this is widely believed in the state to be connected to his state of health.
Multiple reports had it earlier that Governor Akeredolu was dead, but the state government quickly debunked the reports.
A video clip was later released showing Mr Akeredolu in a home setting watching the English FACup final match between Manchester City and Manchester United played on Saturday
