Delta Guber: Ofehe’s YPP Sets To Cause Major Political Upset In Delta As Ogbe-Ijoh, Macliver, Ibo Markets Queue Behind Him

Governorship candidate of Young Progressive Party (YPP), Comrade Sunny Ofehe, is set to make a bold ‘statement’ in the Delta State governorship race as his candidacy gained a huge momentum few days to March 18 governorship and state assembly elections.
BIGPEN NIGERIA (www.bigpenngr.com) reports that Ofehe may alter the political applecart as his candidacy is itching towards becoming the third force that people have been yearning for to challenge both the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressive Congress (APC), the two major political parties.
This is coming as Ofehe’s YPP candidacy have gotten overwhelming support across board in the state.
In his recent campaigns at popular Ogbe-Ijoh market, Macliver market and Ibo market, Ofehe’s YPP seen to be the wave of the movement as these markets are densely populated by the deprived people whom are his target to clinch the governorship seat.
Ogbe-Ijoh market is well known to be one of the biggest fish markets across the country. Despite the economy value that the market brings, it is an eyesore to state the fact that people trade in such condition despite being taxed.
Speaking, Ofehe promised to electrify all major trading spots in the state with a gas turbine as well as with modern security gadgets saying specifically that the fish market would be modernized.
He said in his time as governor, he would scrap all levies and taxes imposed on petty traders and Keke riders but would focus on income and corporate taxes from the multinationals as part of efforts to rejig the economy.
The governorship hopeful said that he would attract foreign investment to the turn of $26 billion to rehabilitate the state’s ailing industries and enhance his agricultural revolution plans.
He said that he would do everything humanly possible to engage the federal government on the need to have the Warri river dredged so as to open up the fishing business of the locals and the many opportunities in the state’s coastline.
He said; “As I have repeated it many times, we don’t hire and buy crowd. People come out because they love me and want genuine change. I have promised Deltans that the love they have shown to me in all corners of the State has given me the impetus to deliver the services they duly deserve as their next Governor.
“As a young man like most of you, my boldness, brevity and doggedness in the face of our political difficulties and segregation, my campaign should be source of inspiration to many of you. There are many of you who are better than me but will never be given the chance to even contest an election.
He, therefore appealed to all Deltans, not to vote on party lines, but to scrutinise the candidates and vote for capacity, credibility and service delivery by voting for the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
Earlier, the market chairman said that the people are elated over Ofehe’s candidacy because the ruling party had promised them severally but failed to keep to their promises.
“The people are happy with you, they love you here and really want you so badly because PDP government have failed us so when they vote you on Saturday make sure you don’t disappoint. The original plan of this market has every basic amenities, like health center, police station, bank and other things but it was abandoned”.
Kenneth Ebi Ikoro, Ogbe-Ijoh market youth leader, appealed to the governorship hopeful to ensure that his campaign promises are kept when elected
