Delta South PDP Ticket: ‘Ignore Fake Story’, No Court Sacked Me – Ejele

Published

on

The Delta South Senatorial District candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, Evangelist Michael Diden (AKA Ejele), has dismissed report circulating in the social media that a “Federal High Court sitting in Abuja” had disqualified him from contesting the Senatorial District election in 2023.

Ejele who spoke through his associate, Barry Agbanigbi, said that the said report was handiwork of mischief makers who are out to distract him.

“The story is a work of fiction as no suit on the candidacy of Evangelist Michael Diden, alias Ejele, is before any court in Abuja”, a statement released by Agbanigbi on Friday said.

He said that the purported ‘sack news’ was designed to cause confusion within the ranks of Delta State PDP and distract him from the task of ensuring Delta South gets effective representation in the Red Chamber in 2023.

“Unfortunately for the persons behind this condemnable act, they have failed woefully” Agbanigbi said, adding that the purveyors of the said fake news gave their sinister motives away through their lack of knowledge of basics of reporting proceedings in a court.

Punching holes in the report, Agbanigbi noted that some of the brazen ignorance displayed by the purveyors of the fiction are; “There was no mention of the judge’s name nor was there any copious quote made in the course of the “ruling”.

“No mention was made of the identify of the plaintiff or plaintiffs. A crucial part of a story on the courts – the reliefs sought by the plaintiff(s) – was not mentioned. If no relief was sought, then on what basis was the “ruling” made”.

Admitting however that Ejele has a pending case in court, he said, “The only suit challenging the candidature of Ejele is holding at the Federal High Court, Warri and hearing is yet to commence.

He said that there is no way a judgement can be entered in a case ahead of the hearing.

Urging PDP faithful, supporters of Diden and the general public to ignore the purported sack report, Agbanigbi harped on the need to continue the mass mobilisation of the people to vote for Diden and PDP in the 2023 elections.

While saying that Ejele appreciates the role of the social media in the promotion of the country’s nascent democracy, he advise practitioners to shun posting inciteful and provocative reports to score cheap political points.
