BIGPENNGR.COM reports that Dagogo was arraigned before a Port Harcourt Chief Magistrate Court, presided over by Chief Magistrate A.O Amadi-Nna, on a two count charge of conspiracy to felony and cultism, on Friday and was subsequently remanded in Police custody till May 9, 2022 for possible arraignment and consideration of bail.
It was learnt that he was remanded in police custody following a new rule which does not empower Magistrate Court to hear a case of cultism.
Dagogo was arrested by policemen on Thursday evening at the PDP South-South zonal secretariat in Port Harcourt, where he had gone to be screened as a governorship aspirant.
Recall that the federal lawmaker was declared wanted by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on Wednesday for allegedly hiring suspected cultists to attack the state party secretariat, venue of screening for National Assembly and State House of Assembly aspirants.
Dagogo, who hails from Tombia in Degema local government area of the state, had in a statement issued that same Wednesday denied responsibility for the attack on the PDP secretariat.
His media aide, Ibrahim Lawal, said that the lawmaker was not a cultist and did not send anyone to disrupt the screening exercise.
Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo was never at the Party Secretariat where the screening process took place. He is Governorship aspirant and not National or State Assembly aspirant, he said.
