APC Convention: Ray Of Hope For Delta APC As Ochei, Keyamo Join Omo-Agege At Delta Stand

Ochei raises Omo-Agege hand at APC national convention in Abuja
We’ll come together as one big family – Omo-Agege

There seems to be ray of hope for Delta State All Progressive Congress (APC) as both the tendency of Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege and Minister for State, Labour and Productivity, Olorogun Festus Keyamo merged in one fold at the Delta Stand at the ongoing national convention of the party.

BIGPENNGR reports that their meeting which was devoid of any clash unlike the 2018 APC national convention where two factions of the party loyal to Omo-Agege and the party’s 2015 governorship candidate, Olorogun Ortega Emerhor clashed, indicates that there’s ongoing merger talk by the two tendencies to collapse under one fold.

Both Omo-Agege and Emerhor tendencies have since reconciled.

Omo-Agege, though, has not formally declare his interest, has his eyes firmly fixed on the Delta governorship seat.

A picture of Omo-Agege and former Delta State House of Assembly Speaker and current Executive Director in NIMASA, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, which surfaced online late Saturday, shows the latter lifting up the hand of the former at the Delta box during the convention.

In a statement personally signed by Omo-Agege over the development at the convention and made available to BIGPENNGR this night indicates all maybe well soon in Delta APC.

In the statement, Senator Omo-Agege, expressed optimism that APC would come together as one big family for the good of the party in Delta State ahead of the 2023 general election.

He said: “Its been a great and wonderful convention. Our party is more united and stronger than it was a few weeks ago and we are going to have a peaceful and largely uncontested convention based on a unity list that was a product of consensus.

“Senator Abdullahi Adamu will emerge today as the new Chairman of APC with overwhelming support of leaders and the rank and file of the party. Thanks to the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari who has encouraged the party to adopt consensus in line with the 2022 electoral law.

“Delta State APC is encouraged by this development. As a result, we will take steps to further unite the party in our State. We will reach out to our brothers and sisters who have not fully embraced the new State Executive Council to reconcile the party fully before the 2023 general elections.

“With what I have seen here today, particularly the visit of  the Honourable

Minister of State for Labour, Chief Festus Keyamo and the Executive Director of NIMASA, Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei to the Delta State stand, I am very optimistic that we will come together as one big family for the good of the party in the state”.
