An unidentified man in his late 40s, has been found dead along the Ekpan bridge, near the NNPC Senior Staff Complex in Uvwie Local Government council of Delta State.
BIGPENNGR gathered that the man’s body was found at the wee hours of Monday when motorists and commuters were rushing out for the day’s business.
It was not clear if the man was killed by a hit and run driver or killed somewhere else and dumped at the spot, but the lifeless man was seen with a pair of black trousers with a black sleeveless polo and a pair of palm slippers lying by his side.
Some onlookers who were at the scene to catch a glimpse of the man if he could be identify, think the incident maybe a case of ritual killing but expressed doubt since no part of his body was harvested.
Witness believes he may have been hit by a careless driver since blood clot was seen from his nose and mouth.
Some motorists and tricycle operators popularly known as Keke riders at the scene, called on the Uvwie Council and other relevant authorities to remove the corpse as soon as possible before it decomposes and pollute the environment.
When contacted on Tuesday, the state Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said that the dead body has been evacuated from the road and deposited already at the mortuary. He disclosed that the family of the deceased had reported a case of hit and run as what led to the man’s death.
