Governor Godwin Obaseki has picked the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the September governorship election in the state as all those who were gunning for the party’s ticket have stepped down for him.

BIGPEN understands that ken Imasuagbon, the only challenger who ought to contest the ticket with Obaseki today at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium for the indirect primary of the party, stepped down last night.

About 2,229 delegates who are expected to vote the party’s flagbearer were gathering for the commencement of the exercise when Imasuagbon who had previously vowed not to step down, announced his withdrawal few minute to the party’s primary.

Obaseki is expected to be returned unopposed from an affirmative exercise that is still ongoing.

Recalled that Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama who had earlier challenged Obaseki eligibility in a Port Harcourt court on Wednesday threw up the towel after he agreed to out-of-court settlement of the suit.
