The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, have loss their appeal challenging the election of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Supreme Court.

The apex court dismissed Atiku’s appeal filed against Buhari victory in the presidential election petition tribunal.

The Supreme Court panel, led by Chief Justice of Nigeria Tanko Muhammad, said it will give reasons for dismissing the petition on a later date.

Justice Muhammad who led the 7-man panel said Atiku cannot get justice that he seeks for his appeal petition was lacking in merit.

According to him, the dismissal came after the panel had read all the documents and exhibits filed in the case for about a fortnight, within which the panel discovered that the appeal was lacking in merit.

Recalls that Atiku and his party, PDP had approached the Supreme Court after the tribunal last month dismissed their original petition.
