APC Chieftain, Ofehe Hails Sylva, Amaechi, Keyamo On Their Swearing In As Ministers

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC and former governorship aspirant in Delta State, Chief Sunny Ofehe has felicitated with former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, former River State governor, Rotimi Amaechi and Festus Keyamo (SAN) for their swearing in as Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and their subsequent assignment of portfolios.

Ofehe, a Nigeria-born Dutch environmental rights activist, in a congratulatory message he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, said that he has no doubt that Sylva would fit well in his new position as Minister for Petroleum Resources (State) having had a stint in the Petroleum Resources/Energy Ministry as Special Assistant to the then Minister, Dr Edmund Daukoru. 

According to him, as a governor, Sylva brought his wealth of experience as manager of men and resources to create a viable economic development for Bayelsa State and was able a project a well articulated roadmap in tackling insurgency in the NIger Delta region that saw increased in oil revenue, jerk up of oil production and enhanced conducive environment for the smooth running of the oil and gas industry. 

“His Excellencies, Rotimi Amaechi and Timipre Sylva and my brother, Festus Keyamo (SAN) who have been in the forefront of campaign for economic and justice for the Niger Delta region, are men who had overtime showed passion for the Nigeria project, they have in various capacities they served this nation proved their worth and desire to see a new Nigeria hence it is my wish that God should grant you the needed wisdom, protection and strength to see to the advancement of this administration.

“With this well deserved appointment and subsequent assignment of ministerial portfolios, I have no doubt in my mind that they would excellently perform and bring the next level agenda of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari a resounding testimonies at the end of the four years term”, Ofehe added.

The environmental rights activist stated that Amaechi reappointment to man the Transportation Ministry is a huge vote of confidence that he excellently did well in the implementation of people-oriented agenda of the APC-led government in the transportation sector.

He expressed confidence that Amaechi second coming as Minister of Transportation would further improved the rail sub-sector, ensure safer Nigeria waterways; completion of the East-West road, and ensure the improvement of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA in the area of regulation as well as improvement and upgrade of facilities at the Nigerian Maritime University in Delta State. 

Besides, Ofehe said that Keyamo had overtime showed that he is vast with happening in the Niger Delta in several local and international fora where he delivered lectures on the teething problems of economic and environmental injustice, infrastructural deficit and gross marginalization of the region.

He expressed optimism that he would bring his wealth of experience as a legal giant vast with oil and gas laws to implement a legal framework for the betterment of the region. 

Consequently, he urged the newly sworn in ministers to judiciously use their assigned portfolios to advance the next level agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari and APC-led government, saying that Nigerians would be looking up to them in the next four years to see how socio-economic development of the Niger Delta would be better improved.
