Delta Central 2019: This Is An Urhobo Matter And Our Interest Is Omo-Agege – Okorodudu

National Coordinator of Urhobo Mandate for Omo-Agege, Prince Peter Etareri Okorodudu has said that the interest of the Urhobo people of Delta Central is to have the incumbent Senator representing the district, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege return to the National Assembly in 2019.

Okorodudu who spoke while addressing newsmen at Ewu community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State, urged the people of Delta Central Senatorial District to vote Omo-Agege back to red chamber come 2019.

According to him, the Urhobo nation could no longer afford to be changing their Senator at every election.

He said that it was absolutely imperative for the people to vote massively for Omo-Agege to enable him consolidate on his enviable achievements at the National Assembly.

His words: “It is on record that Urhobo nation has never voted for a Senator for a second tenure in the political history of this country and this is not in the best interest of the ethnic nationality in the political scheme of things.

“As the fifth largest ethnic nationality in Nigeria, we must put an end to this trend in the forthcoming election. We should endeavor to return Omo-Agege so as to increase the chances of Urhobo occupying a principal position in the Senate.

“The Urhobo people have suffered a lot politically since 1999 and it is our own making that we have not help a principal position in the senate

“Apart from this, Omo-Agege has proven to be a very vibrant and dependable senator who has given the Urhobo nation a strong voice in the National Assembly. He has attracted so much human and infrastructural development to the Urhobo people.

“We do not need a Senator that will go to the National Assembly to sleep. That is why this group whose members cut across all political parties have deemed it necessary to work towards the reelection of Omo-Agege.

“This is an Urhobo matter and our interest is to ensure that the right person that has the interest of the Urhobo nation at heart irrespective of his political party affiliation is voted to represent Delta central in the forthcoming election.

“We have assessed the candidates of all the political parties and we say without fear of contradiction that Omo-Agege fits the bill.”
