BREAKING! Great Ogboru Emerges APC Governorship Candidate In Delta

Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru Samuel has emerged as the 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress in Delta state.

BigPen Online reports that Ogboru  defeated other three contestants; Prof Pat Utomi, Victor Ochei and Dr Cairo Ojougboh at the primary election held at Federal College of Education (Technical), Asaba, the state capital.

Electoral Panel Committee chairman, General Lawrence Onoja (rtd) who announced the result said Ogboru scored 3,292 votes to emerge winner, while Ochei scored 160 votes, Pat Utomi got 26 votes while Ojougboh polled 12 votes respectively.

Onoja declares 129 votes recorded during the election as invalid, adding that the total votes cast was 3644 while valid votes was 3515 respectively.

“Therefore by the power vested on me as the returning officer, my name is Gen Lawrence Onoja,  as the returning officer of APC governorship primary held today October 1 2019 I hereby declare Chief Great Ogboru winner having scored the highest number of votes and thereby return him as APC candidate for the 2019 governorship election”, Onoja declares..

He said the election was free, fair, peaceful and conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution.

Responding after his victory, Ogboru commended the delegates for electing him as the party candidate, adding that he would ensure unity among party members for the progress of APC.

He also promised to carry all aspirants along for the growth and development of the state for the future generations to benefit.

“Let us come and work together as one party and move the party forward. I thereby urged all other aspirants who were in the race with me to unite so we can face our common opponents together and transform our state to a new Delta State.

“I offer them the opportunity to come and drive our ship of success so as to implement our agenda for our people in Delta State and move the state forward where a new sense of hope, a new sense of belonging would be the order of the day and that’s what we mean when we say a new Delta”, Ogboru enthused.
